Look, everyone can be an ass at some point to their partner. Nobody wants to be that person. Unless you do... then maybe our product isn't for you? 🤨

Our goal is simply to help each of you be less of a "donkey" to your partner. We provide a light-hearted, engaging and data-driven environment for you and your partner to safely grow together.

Unlike other AI-driven therapy apps we do not seek to replace therapists. In fact, we want you to work with a therapist of your choice (you'll even get a nice discount for our service 😊) and supplement it with our app for the best growth experience you can have.

How It All Began

This all started with a dinner conversation.

Nathan, our CTO, was at a family event talking about the latest innovations in AI. His sister, being networked with scholars in the Articificial Intelligence space at Brigham Young University, mentioned recent research demonstrating how AI could be used to facilitate difficult conversations. Nathan, being the curious person he is, jumped into the research and found potential in using AI to help couples communicate better.

A few months later, Nathan pitched, then built a prototype of what would become Donkey Chats. That's where Nathan met Ty, our CEO, who was wanted to be a first customer in his own marriage.

We've talked with many therapists and couples, seeking to understand what they needed most in a couples therapy app. We've taken that feedback and are aiming to be the best couples therapy app on the market!
